Sports Cast for September 5th:
Yearling basketball Coach Mike Wharin said he’s anxious to have a full season working with the boys’ team this year.
The team finished 9-3 last year and was something the coach felt was a good accomplishment. He predicted next year’s team will be very talented and successful. Wharin agreed the team was just as good defensively s they were offensively and they will continue to work hard on the defensive end. His goal is to improve the offense this winter. He thanked his assistant coaches Marcell Richardson and Myron Refoure for their volunteer work.
The Lady Brahman swim team took second at a recent meet in Sebring. The boys finished in fourth place at the four team event. Several girls relay teams finished first as did Aubrie Reister, Nathanael Bean, and Christina Orender in individual races. Lady Brahman volleyball swept Hardee by scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 27-25. Cheyenne Nunez, Makayla Root and Ariana Nunez led in kills and Lexi Ward in assists.
Brahman boy’s golf will visit Fort Pierce Central this afternoon at Indian Hills country club.
