Sports Cast for October 4th:
Yearling earned revenge over Pemayetv Emahakv with a hard fought 25-15 and 25-21 in middle school volleyball Thursday.
Brighton had handed Yearling their only loss of the season at the reservation in September. Rachel Bryan said her final home game meant something to her. Coach Kelly ann Campbell said her girls were intense and focused.
OHS volleyball overcame Sebring last night in 5 tough games, 25-20, 25-20, 14-25, 21-25, and 15-8 last night. Cheyenne Nunez and Makayla Root led the way at the net to lead Okeechobee.
Root says she gains in confidence in every match. Coach Taylor Pritchard said her defense played great and the team was finally able to finish off a match. Okeechobee has now won two consecutive home games.
On the sports schedule this weekend, the OHS rodeo team competed in Branford, the OYFL will host games Saturday against Cypress Gardens at the high school starting at 9 am and the cross country team competes in the Fleet Feet invitational at South Fork High School on Saturday.
