Additional Arrest Made in Convenience Store Robbery
Highlands County Sheriff’s Detectives made one more arrest today in the continuing investigation of the robbery of the M&H Convenience Store that occurred on December 9, 2013. On that day at approximately 11:00AM two males entered the store armed with a knife, committed a robbery and fled. The robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and other merchandise from the store.
As a result of the continuing investigation, on December 14, 2013 Mariano Rios Huertes, 42 years of age of 113 Shannon Way, Sebring, was arrested and charged with robbery and false imprisonment in connection with this incident. He is currently being held in the Highlands County Jail under $60,000 bond.
Today Heriberto Ernesto Torres de Jongh, 38 years of age, of 5119 Granada Blvd. Apt. 2, Sebring, was also arrested in this case. Torres de Jongh has also been charged with robbery and false imprisonment. He is currently being booked into the Highlands County Jail with bond undetermined at this time.
