Sports Cast for June 12th:

Carissa LiCata was named Co-Most Valuable Player for the Lady Brahman softball team this year. The senior is now headed to Florida gulf Coast University on a softball scholarship and plans to be busy this summer conditioning her and getting ready for that challenge. She said the Softball banquet was bitter sweet as she realized her high school career is over. Licata was one of the top academic students and ranked 14th in her class.

LiCata said she truly appreciated the MVP award which she shares with Stormy Stokes. Licata said her friends became closer because of softball. Her advice to the younger players is to cherish the moments they have with everyone. She wished them the best of luck next year.

The winners in the girls, ages 13 and 14 division in Hershey track and field this year included Ashley Snyder of Osceola in the 100 meters, Ashton English of Yearling in the 20 meters, Lillian Henry of Yearling in the 800 meters and the 16 hundred meters, and the yearling 4 by 800 meter relay squad of Taylor Gibson, Alexis Morgan, Ashley Boys and Shamyra Williams. Snyder won the girls long jmp and Raeley Matthews of Brighton won the softball throw.
