Thitchener Case-Albright

One former and one current Martin County Commissioner are in trouble with law enforcement after being indicted in a public records scandal. 69 year old Ann Scott and 73 year old Ed Fielding were arrested last week and charged with two counts each of failure to permit inspection and copying of public records. The charges stem from their failure to surrender emails to developers investigating why the County Commission suddenly started voting against them. The emails, requested by a mining company near Lake Okeechobee called Lake Point, a company that was out to prove that commissioners were illegally communicating and discussing public business in private and conspiring with members of the public against the company’s interests.
