Evan Neal Going To Play For Alabama (Audio Included)

After four years of being recruited by the top schools in the country, Okeechobee’s Evan Neal announced on Wednesday afternoon to a nationally televised audience at Okeechobee High School that he would be playing his college football in Tuscaloosa at the University of Alabama.

Neal originally verballed to Alabama after his freshman year at Okeechobee but then De committed shortly after transferring from Okeechobee to IMG Academy. Obviously, the Crimson Tide kept in touch and were able sign the 5 star offensive tackle. The other schools that made the final cut were Georgia, Florida State, Florida and Miami.

Evan comes from a long line of players to play at a high collegiate level. Evan’s father Eddie played at Tulane, his uncle Frankie Neal played for Florida and then in the NFL with Green Bay, Evan’s cousins Cleveland Gary played at Miami and in the NFL and another cousin Jimmy played at West Virginia.

In attendance were students, administration, past coaches and teammates along with family and media. The announcement was broadcast live nationally on ESPNU.
