News Cast for June 7th:

With the Country commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day this week, the Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee welcomed in County Veteran Service Officer Sarah Carter to speak to the club. Before Carter spoke, Kiwanian and World War 2 veteran Red Larson spoke about his experiences on that day. Larson wasn’t at Omaha Beach that day but described his feelings on waiting for news of what happened knowing how vital the operation was to the war.

After Larson’s speech, Carter spoke to the club regarding the county veteran services department Carter-1

Carter went on to say that there are many services the department offers that some veterans are not aware of Carter-2

On the arrest report:

Margarito James Jr of Okeechobee was found in contempt of court related to a 2nd degree misdemeanor charge of driving without  a valid license. James is out on $500 bond.

Traci Michelle Evans of Stuart was arrested and charged with possession and or use of drug paraphernalia. Evans is being held in county jail on $7500 bond.

Jose German Ramirez of Okeechobee was arrested and charged with 3rd degree felony of DUI with more than two priors within 10 years. Ramirez is out on $2500 bond.
