William Wims, the new C.E.O at New Horizons spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee recently about his plans for the mental health and drug addiction center.
New Horizons is a nonprofit behavioral health care provider serving 15,000 children and adults annually through a wide range of accessible inpatient and outpatient programs. They are the largest center of it’s kind for the four Treasure Coast Counties.
Wims accepted the position last December and is focusing on rebuilding community bridges and establishing a working partnership. Wims also wants to work to “destigmatize” mental health and make it easier for those that need help to ask for it.
