Okeechobee Alum New Head Football Coach at Seminole (AUDIO INCLUDED)

Okeechobee Alum Eric Lodge was recently named the Head Football coach at Seminole High School in Sanford. Seminole is an 8A classified school that has over 4,000 students. Lodge was an assistant at the school for 4 years under coach Don Stark. When Stark left for a coaching job in Georgia, Lodge was promoted.

Lodge graduated Okeechobee in 2007 and played under coached Todd Dresser and then Chris Branham. Current Brahman football coach Ty Smith was the defensive coordinator at the time and Lodge’s position coach. Lodge says he leaned a lot from Smith that he carries with him to this day.

Lodge played on some very talented Okeechobee teams from 03-06 that featured players like Lonnie Pryor, LeShawn Henderson, Timmy Williams and Kareem Jones

Lodge is joined on his staff by another former Brahman, Rex Erwin Jr. Rex joined up with Lodge at Seminole 2 years ago after several years as an assistant under Chris Branham at Okeechobee. Lodge says it is great to have Erwin aboard.

Okeechobee has had a lot of athletic success the last 2 years and Lodge says he has been keeping up with his alma mater.
