Are you ready to talk fast, sharing some information? Well, Thursday, July 29th at 5:00p.m. the Chamber of Commerce will host our July After Hours at the Brown Cow Sweetery. Have you ever had the experience of speed dating? Well this will be a fun event where instead of speed dating, we will be speed networking! A great way for each of us to learn a little more about each person in attendance. We’ve had one other speed networking event back in February and it was great. So much was learned about each other. We will have cards made up with questions that you can use to ask of each person, or you can prepare them ahead of time, or just use whatever questions comes to mind as you meet them. Your choice, just make it fun and informative. We will be following CDC guidelines by social distancing. Don’t miss out on the fun, come join in the speed networking event! Be sure and bring your business cards and brochures. Looking forward to seeing you on the 29th.

You can submit your nomination for the Business of the Year Awards in one of the following categories Business Development, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Community (definitions for which can be found in the directory of awards). Please remember that no one knows your business better than you, so get your nomination in and share your successes and challenges with the judges. Not sure which one to choose? We have provided a short quiz that will help you sort it out and can be found at the bottom of the page on our website www.okeechobeebusiness.com.

All the successes, challenges, community activities, upcoming projects, promotions, those are best shared by you. You can nominate another member business and we will get in touch with them for them to complete a self-nomination form too.
In addition to the business awards this year, we have added the “Future Business Leader” award. The Future Business Leader Award recipient will be one that has been nominated by their employer for outstanding leadership within the company in which they are currently employed.
