What’s Happening in Okeechobee 12-2-21

A FREE testing site for the COVID-19 virus will be open at the Okeechobee County Agri-Civic Center (4601 Highway 710). The site will be open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Adults and children needing a COVID-19 test should enter the Agri-Civic center through the Hwy 710 gate and follow the signs on site. This testing site is being operated by Curative and will be providing the PCR test results within 24-48 hours from receipt of the sample at the lab. Appointments are recommended and can be made beginning Thursday, September 2, 2021 in person at the testing site at the Agri-Civic Center or online at https://curative.com. Okeechobee County reminds our residents that Raulerson Hospital is not an open testing or vaccination location. Okeechobee County is working jointly with many community partners to ensure the Okeechobee Community has free and easy access to testing and vaccinations for the Covid-19 virus. The public is encouraged to take advantage of these testing and vaccination locations. Information about those locations is updated as needed on the Okeechobee County Government Facebook page and at www.co.okeechobee.fl.us.

The 5k Love Run is Saturday February 12 starting at 8 AM. Tickets are on sale now through our website RSCa soldiers.com for $25 and that price does increase to $30 after the new year.

We are excited to announce Brown Cow Sweetery’s 10th Anniversary, and to celebrate we will be having a Ribbon cutting on Thursday, December 16th at 5:00p.m.  This will be combined with a Main Street Mixer that is also being held there that same evening.  Don’t miss out on congratulating Mark and Paulette Bragel on their longevity of providing exemplary service and delicious items on their varied menu and don’t forget all their chocolates. We’re proud to have their business as a part of our community and as a long time Chamber member.  Be sure and stop by, get in the ribbon cutting photo and stay for the continued celebration with the Main Street Mixer.  Hope to see you there! All of our events are open to the public.
