Okeechobee native and Brahman Alum Kutter Crawford hit a new milestone last week when he got the call that the pitcher was being promoted from Double A Portland to Triple A Wooster in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Crawford says that he had an idea of what was coming when he got summoned to the manager’s office after his team’s Thursday night game but it felt great to get verification.

In Double A this year, Kutter has a 3-2 record with a 3.30 E.R.A and striking out 64 batters in just over 46 innings of work. His WHIP (Walks plus Hits per Inning pitched) was a blistering .80. Crawford says it is his ability to throw strikes and limiting walks that has got him to this level.

Kutter is scheduled to make his triple A debut Tuesday night when he starts against the Buffalo Bison, an affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. He says that he plans to tune out the hype and continue to pitch the way he has been.
