Denise Whitehead spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee this week to discuss a wide variety of County Community Services. Denise manages seven departments for the County which include Parks and Recreation, the County Library, Senior Services, Veterans Services, Extension Services, the Agri Civic Center and Tourism.

Whitehead lauded  the great staff she has in every department and gave them a lot of the credit in making sure everything runs smoothly. When asked what services tend to go under  the radar she though hard and mentioned the library and senior services.

Whitehead also gave an update on the highly anticipated splash pad at  the County Sports complex.

A Port St Lucie man who claimed to be an undercover officer from Martin county was sentence to 4 years probation for allegedly stealing a trailer and leading police on a chase on 441SE. Juan Rodriguez also will pay over $1,300 dollars in court costs and fines.
