Incoming Brahman football coach BJ Pryor has not wasted anytime since moving to Okeechobee after accepting the job earlier this summer. Coach Pryor has had the team out in the community selling signs to be displayed at Brahman Field as well as holding car washes to raise funds.
Pryor appreciates the community support but says now the work begins as they prepare for camp.
Pryor says that all the fundraising done the past few months have brought the team and community together. The team raised over $4500 at a recent car wash event held at 5 locations.
Training camp will have a different feel this year. The Brahmans are going to hold it at the FCA Campgrounds on 98 North close to the Civic Center. Because of facilities and boarding, only the varsity will spend the night there but the hope is to have the entire program stay the week next year.
Okeechobee will once again hold midnight madness marking the first day that teams can practice in pads. The event will begin at 12:01am Saturday August 6th at Brahman Stadium. Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshman programs will all get to run drills for the public.
The first game of the Coach BJ Pryor era will be the Kickoff Classic Friday, August 19th at home vs Jupiter. WOKC will once again broadcast every game of the 2022 season.
