Ken Keller

On the air: 6p-7p | Thursdays & Sports Broadcasts

From the time he fell asleep listening to basketball and baseball radio broadcasts, Ken knew he wanted to do radio play by play for a living. After calling minor league baseball games into a cassette recorder and using that as a demo, Ken got his first job at a radio station in west central Ohio calling a variety of high school sports. After moving to Okeechobee in late 2010, Ken has continued doing what he loves in becoming the play by play voice for Okeechobee High School, football, basketball, baseball and softball for WOKC.  You can catch him on Thursdays on The Sports Grill from 6-7 with Billy Dean & calling play by play action during our sports broadcasts. Check PODCASTS for past games and look under EVENTS for information on our next broadcast!

PENNY MITCHELL

On the air: 11a – 2p | Monday – Friday

I was born in Colorado Springs, grew up in Canon City and am insanely proud to be a Colorado native. I met my husband in college at the campus radio station. Our first date was a media banquet; we got engaged three months later. I was working in Colorado Springs at the time; my Dad came VERY close to putting a station bumper sticker on the back of his tux as he walked me down the aisle, but he knew my Mom would have murdered him. We decided to not have kids and instead are putting our veterinarian’s children through school.  I am a voracious reader (I actually kind of hate television). I love to hike, I’ve climbed four of Colorado’s 14,000 foot mountains. I love to travel. I love ALL kinds of music. I still think radio is absolutely magical. You flip a switch, you’re suddenly no longer alone. It’s amazing.

Lia Knight

On the air: 8p – 1a | Monday – Saturday

Lia Knight grew up immersed in Country music. Her family owned a nightclub and it was only natural for her to transition from listening to Country music and conversing with touring musicians to one day interviewing Country stars from her studio. Lia started her radio career in 1987 as an intern at KRPM, a Country radio station in Seattle. She quickly moved up the ranks and soon had her own overnight show. By 1991 she was not only hosting KRPM’s nighttime request and dedications show, “Cryin’, Lovin’ or Leavin’,” but she had taken the show’s ratings to a whole new level. Eager to learn more about music and the programming side of the business, Lia left her night show in 1995 to juggle duties as Assistant PD/Music Director/Midday Personality at KXDD in Yakima, WA. Two years later Lia was back in Seattle as a producer for a national Country show and within a year, she became the show’s host – and The Lia Show was born.

RICH CREEGER

On the air: 1a – 6a | Tuesday – Sunday

I’ve been involved in Country music since I was hired to be a bar back in the early 80’s at the World Famous Gilley’s nightclub in Pasadena, Texas during the height of the Urban Cowboy craze. Although Country music has gone through many variations since then it has always been the first preset on my radio because it still has the foundation of real stories told by real people about real life. Some of my favorite current artists are Chris Young, Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer. Some of my all-time favorites are Willie Nelson, George Jones and Reba. My wife Fran and I are a blended family of 5 kids, 2 dogs and a cat and when her and I get some free time (ha ha what’s that?) we usually point the car toward the beach, set up camp and just stare at it.
