The wife of a reality TV star who was charged with trying to have him murdered pled guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in Las Vegas.

The case of Victoria Goodwin had a local connection as she allegedly contacted an inmate at Okeechobee Correctional Institution, Grant Amato, to try and have her husband Aaron killed.

She faces up to 10 years in prison and a fin of $5,000 at her sentence hearing.

Prison Officials investigated the case and said they uncovered messages on the inmates cell phone. Amato is serving life for killing his family in Seminole County. He stole $200,000 from the family to help fuel an online addiction to a webcam model.

Goodwin was to pay Amato $11,515 for the murder. She told investigators she did not recall sending these messages. She did admit she sent money to Amato for cell phones so they could contact each other.

Aaron Goodwin appears on the reality series Ghost Adventures.

The arrest report from Nevada said Goodwin was in love with Amato and wished to pursue a relationship with him. She also stated that the husband would not accept or agree to a divorce.

Goodwin also told investigators she was daydreaming of being in a different situation, was going through marital problems and felt lonely.

The city of Okeechobee discussed growth issues and whether they should expand the main commercial corridor of 441.

They discussed going one block east and west of 441 with more commercial uses.

Vice Mayor Monica Clark said she was concerned with changing standards for different properties.

Mayor Dowling Watford said the city zoning can be the only means of protection for land owners and neighborhoods.

Councilmember Bob Jarriel would like the city council and the planning board to have similar ideas and plans for future growth.

The council did approve an application to rezone four lots at 2104 SW 2nd Avenue to allow for the construction of two duplex units.

The legislature is yet to know when they will return to Tallahassee to finalize a state budget.

One of the key issues in the session was President Ben Albrittons bill called Rural Renaissance SB 110.

Director of the Heartland Educational Consortium Donna Garcia said rural school districts could benefit from the bill in the form of more funding for leadership development and training.

Garcia said her goal is to increase collaboration among rural schools.

A Good Samaritan reported a mini donkey might have fallen out of someone’s trailer or pickup truck on 441 north of Fort Drum.

The woman said the male donkey suffered road rash in the incident and likely needed a veterinarians care.

She was hoping to find the owner of the animal. The woman said it appeared to be a pet, walks on a halter, and is very friendly and well mannered.

CR 721 or Reservation Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic starting June 2 at Indian Prairie Canal.

The plan is to have one lane for about 3,800 feet north of the canal for road construction.

They plan to place automated signals to move traffic safely through the construction zone.

The two way traffic will resume in August and construction is expected to last into October.

Glades County officials urged motorists to use caution when traveling this road toward the reservation.
