W.O.K.C. News. They lowered the bond with W.O.K.C. News. I’m Charles Murphy. A Vero Beach woman held at the Yucca Chubu Jail since May 16th without bond on a DUI manslaughter charge. So her bond reduced to one hundred and ten thousand dollars this week. Blanca Domingo Ruiz, allegedly behind the wheel of an ATV that flipped over, killing 34 year old Sadie D’Ariella Galliano Salinas of Port St. Lucy in the Viking property. The Florida Highway Patrol says Ruiz had a blood alcohol of 0.12 when tested after the crash. Her fiance, Christopher Sims, testified that Ruiz is trustworthy and will show up for court dates. I think Blanca is an amazing woman. She’s great in the community. Got family and friends that love her and here to support her today and help her with anything that crosses the path of the roads to help her out in any way. She came to the U.S. illegally, but now does have a visa and legal status. In Okeechobee, a man will be sentenced September 17th on 14 felony charges related to child pornography. Wayne Adams played no contest to the charges at a recent hearing. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement say they got a tip from a national database that child porn had been downloaded at a location in Okeechobee. They searched that home on State Road 78. The image is allegedly downloaded between November 23 and January of 24. South Florida Water Management District promoting the Kissimmee River Recreation Area, the 47,500 acres allowing for public use along the Kissimmee River. Rory Feeney says the district does all it can to inspire recreation. He says they recently put in nine primitive campsites and a new trail along the river for paddlers. The 76.5 Blueway extends from Lake Kissimmee to Lake Okeechobee and highlights the ecological and recreational value of the restored system. The designation recognizes the Kissimmee River as one of Florida’s premier paddling destinations and helps connect residents and visitors with the benefits of restoration. Alligator Ron Bergeron, a governing board member, says public access to the Kissimmee River is a jewel. Allowing the public to enjoy our natural resources, sustainable is key. Sustainable access and enjoyment. And what a great accomplishment. A 65-year-old Laredo woman is facing DUI charges after she apparently fell asleep behind the wheel at a Circle K in Sebring. The clerk in the store became concerned when no one got out of the car and the car stayed at the gas pump for a lengthy period. He called the law and they found her sleeping inside. An Okeechobee man facing disorderly intoxication charges after he bothered patrons at the Circle K gas station at 36th Street Northwest. He allegedly went around asking for money. Deputies say they noticed alcohol coming from the suspect and that he was slurring his words and staggering around. A chase with St. Lucy deputies last fall was transferred to Okeechobee County when they made the arrest in Okeechobee. The chase began around Shin Road on 70 West. The vehicle clock going 106 miles an hour. James Clark allegedly threatened the deputy as well, had to be tased three times. I’m Charles Murphy, WOKC News.
