WOKC News. Some good, some bad with WOKC News, I’m Charles Murphy. Most businesses liked having the people here for the music fest this year. The attendance was down. Only 18000 were recorded. Vice Mayor Monica Clark says her business was burdened by all the pedestrians that came in on the train. She says a lot of them tried to camp in the parks and the city overall had a lot of pedestrians walking around. Talk to the music festival organizers about setting up some temporary restrooms and things like that, or where they can meet and greet and have some restrooms and they’re sleeping in their cars and things like that, you know, might help out a little bit. I know the city had a lot of their workers out in the park and the police department Wednesday night. Oogeshiba County Fire Rescue says there’s a red flag warning issued for today between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. due to critical weather conditions for fires, including increased winds and low humidity. Amtrak train service coming to Oogeshiba was disrupted Monday and today because of a wildfire in the northeast part of the state. The Silver Meteor route, which runs from Miami to New York, was starting and ending in Jacksonville instead of South Florida. And it’s two daily train trips were canceled today. Congressman Scott Franklin explained why he’s endorsing fellow Congressman Byron Donalds as he runs for governor in Florida. I think he could do a good job. He has Tallahassee experience. He knows how to work things in D.C. to get things that are good for the state. And he has a national platform. Coquina Water Management wants the state to expand their powers. They want to maintain all the roads in the Viking property. Currently, they’re allowed to maintain roads that they need to reach and maintain their infrastructure. The board of supervisors also fired Superintendent James Faisette. We’re told that’s the third superintendent fired in the last year. They’ve also had three interim superintendents. Board of Supervisors member Sean Wilcox says the last superintendent was fired for this. We fired him for making inappropriate comments to her and trying to touch her. So that was why he was fired. Jason Colville says he felt that the superintendent was not out in the field enough. Every time I look on the camera, it’s turn around, talking to brick. That, in my eyes, is not a working superintendent. Indiantown Village Council hearing a lot of complaints about the proposed Silver Fox Data Center. Linda Visco says the village is not informing any of their Spanish speaking residents about this project. There is no translation being done at the village to allow for those residents to even know about the data center or anything else that the village is doing under their radar. The locks on the north end of Lake Ogishobe will be closed starting tonight. Janus Fish Camp and Henry Creek will be closing around 8 p.m. The others closing today are Lakeport and Buckhead Ridge. I’m Charles Murphy, WOKC News.
